Jorge Carrascal celebrated the goal that sealed Flamengo’s 1-0 win over Gremio on Sunday at Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre, in the 15th round of the Brazilian Serie A. After the match, the midfielder emphasized the significance of the result and affirmed that the team remains focused on vying for the top spots in the league.
The Colombian, who scored the only goal of the game, expressed satisfaction with his performance and the team’s execution of their strategy. “I’m very happy with the goal. I always say I’m here to contribute, whether I start or come from the bench. I’m happy with the effort the team made. We played exactly as we planned, with many movements and rotations. I’m very happy,” Carrascal said in an interview with Premiere after leaving the field.
He also expressed confidence in the team’s work throughout the season and reiterated the constant pursuit of wins in the Brazilian Championship. “We are doing our job very well, and I believe the results will show at the end of the championship. So we remain focused on always getting the three points and securing the victory, which is what we always want,” he added.
Flamengo returns to action on Thursday (14th) against Vitoria at Barradao, in the second leg of the fifth round of the Copa do Brasil. The first leg ended with a 2-1 win for the Rio side at Maracana.
