Kyle Dubas, the president of hockey operations and general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins, has addressed the future of forward Evgeni Malkin.

Malkin’s contract runs through June 30, 2026. The Russian star previously stated that he wants to play another season in the NHL, adding, “If not in Pittsburgh, then in some other team.”

“We had a great conversation at the end of the season with Evgeni personally, as well as excellent discussions with him and his agent, J.P. Barry. So we would like him to stay, and we continue to work on that with J.P.,” Dubas said.
