Fernando Alonso Takes Delivery of $11.7 Million Pagani Hypercar with Matching Custom Baby Seat

Most car deliveries don’t come with a matching child seat. Then again, most car deliveries don’t involve a one-of-a-kind hypercar valued at an eight-figure sum. Fernando Alonso isn’t like most people, however, with the Aston Martin driver recently taking delivery of a rare and extremely expensive Pagani Zonda in Monaco.

The Spaniard accepted the keys to a bespoke Pagani Zonda 760 Roadster Diamante Verde, a hypercar worth upwards of $11.7 million. But while the car itself holds more value than many will see in a lifetime, all eyes have been on the custom Recaro child seat installed in the cockpit. Recaro created a seat that matches Alonso’s racing helmet, celebrating the driver becoming a father around the time of the Japanese Grand Prix.

After arriving late at the Suzuka Circuit, Alonso confirmed the good news to DAZN. “Fortunately, it went well, both for the mum and the baby. A super happy, very special moment,” he said at the time. Roughly 140 Zondas were built in total between 1999 and 2019, and the Diamante Verde stands out with its Carbo-Titanium chassis and a Mercedes-AMG 7.3-litre V12 engine producing 760 horsepower, sitting behind the driver’s seat and revving up to 8000rpm.

What really gives this car its name is the unique finish. In certain light, the exposed carbon fibre shimmers with a green hue. With barely 500 miles on the clock, the two-time world champion is only the second owner of this incredible machine.

Alonso’s car collection has previously included a Ferrari Enzo, reportedly sold in 2023 for over $6 million, and he recently purchased a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR for approximately $10 million. His garage also houses a rare Aston Martin Valkyrie, a Valiant, and a DBX S.
